TikTok, the popular social media platform, faces allegations of transferring users’ personal data to its parent company in China. Despite efforts to distance itself from Bytedance, former employees assert that TikTok operates on a profit-oriented model independent of the Chinese Communist Party.

The data in question reportedly includes users’ names, emails, demographics, and locations. TikTok, however, refutes these claims, affirming that as of January 2023, all data pertaining to U.S. users has been cordoned off and is under the strict supervision of the US Data Security team.
