Aleksandra Artamonovskaja, a prominent consultant and moderator in the art blockchain realm, has been appointed as the head of arts for TriliTech, a London-based R&D team supporting the Tezos blockchain. In her new role, she will focus on fostering innovation and generating fresh opportunities for artists within the Tezos ecosystem.

Over the past three years, Tezos has become a preferred platform for artist communities engaging in minting NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which serve as permanent records on the blockchain for art transactions. Tezos, the official blockchain partner of Art Basel art fairs, boasts a vibrant community of artists showcased through events like People of Tezos. Noteworthy initiatives like the MoMA Postcard Project and digital artist Gabriel Massan’s collaborative game under the Serpentine Galleries’ Artist Worlds program have further showcased Tezos’ impact on the art world.

Artamonovskaja, known as Aleksandra Art in artistic circles, has been actively involved in the intersection of art and technology since 2016. She has been minting and collecting NFTs since 2020 and co-founded Electric Artefacts—a platform supporting digital art and blockchain projects.

Expressing her excitement about her new role, Artamonovskaja emphasizes the significance of Tezos as a hub for tech-savvy artists. She aims to enrich the Tezos art community by amplifying its depth and ensuring its leading position in the blockchain art narrative.

In the evolving landscape of NFTs, Artamonovskaja’s appointment coincides with a pivotal moment where traditional art institutions are reconsidering the long-term value of NFTs. As the market undergoes consolidation in 2024, following the highs and lows of previous years, there is renewed optimism for the future of high-value NFT markets. Major art institutions like the Museum of Modern Art and Centre Pompidou have made significant NFT acquisitions, signaling a growing acceptance of digital art.

Artamonovskaja acknowledges the challenge of bridging the gap between traditional and blockchain art worlds, emphasizing the need for a holistic perspective to facilitate mutual understanding and growth within the art community.

Transitioning from the traditional art world to supporting on-chain artists and young collectors, Artamonovskaja is passionate about democratizing art collection through blockchain technology. She highlights the accessibility and authenticity of collecting NFTs on the blockchain, drawing from her own journey as a former business consultant turned NFT collector and advocate.

Artamonovskaja’s vision is to educate people on the benefits of blockchain-based art collection, emphasizing ownership, scarcity, and direct artist support. She believes that blockchain technology has simplified art collection, making it more inclusive and transparent for art enthusiasts of all levels.

Furthermore, she underscores the trend of on-chain artists exploring physical manifestations of their digital art, bridging the gap between virtual and physical art forms. Through her advocacy and passion for art on the blockchain, Artamonovskaja aims to inspire others to engage with the diverse and dynamic world of on-chain art, particularly within the Tezos community.
