Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has once again made headlines, not for his film projects or accidental spoilers, but due to reports of his social media account being hacked.
Known for his minimal presence on social platforms, Tom surprised his fans with a recent post on platform X. On April 16, he shared a cryptic message hinting at a potential collaboration with a cryptocurrency platform. The now-deleted post encouraged followers to sign up for early access to a new digital currency named $SPIDER coin, supposedly associated with a Spider-Verse project.
Tom Holland’s X Account Allegedly Hacked
Given Tom’s usual social media inactivity, this unexpected post caused confusion among his followers. Many found it uncharacteristic of Holland to endorse cryptocurrency, leading to suspicions of a possible hack on his account.
Furthermore, the bio section of Holland’s account was modified to include a link related to the purported partnership.
Another post on Tom’s profile featured a selfie of an unidentified individual, presumably the hacker, accompanied by a caption referencing a scene from the early 2000s Spider-Man movie directed by Sam Raimi and starring Tobey Maguire.
Both the cryptocurrency-related post and the photo uploads have since been removed.
Fan Reactions to the Controversial Posts
The incident triggered a wave of responses from the actor’s fan base. While some expressed relief that Tom had not genuinely endorsed cryptocurrency, others took the opportunity to humorously react to the peculiar sequence of events.
Certain fans lamented the missed opportunity for the hacker to fabricate fake teasers for a non-existent Spider-Man 4 project.
