The partnership between the Neon EVM powered by Solana and the Web3 data lake as well as query engine Subsquid has been revealed to simplify the accessibility of on-chain data for dApp developers. This collaboration signifies the initial phase of Subsquid’s eagerly awaited expansion into the Solana blockchain.
Subsquid, a cutting-edge query engine and decentralized data lake, emphasizes scalability and functionality. It acts as a secure substitute for centralized infrastructure providers such as API companies.
Noteworthy partners of Subsquid include Manta Network, Parity, and Enjin, providing services like blockchain indexing, app development, and analytics. With the support of Neon EVM, the network will now support Solana alongside Ethereum, its L2 solutions, and Substrate (Polkadot and Kusama).
As per the agreement, Subsquid will integrate Neon EVM’s on-chain data into its decentralized data lake, bolstered by ZK proofs. This fusion will simplify dApp development on Neon by offering developers easy access to existing data.
Neon EVM, a smart contract platform on Solana, ensures complete compatibility with Ethereum while addressing Ethereum’s historical constraints such as high gas fees, low liquidity, and slow transaction speeds. Running on Solana, Neon EVM provides quicker transactions, cost-effectiveness, improved liquidity, scalability, and distinctive features absent on Ethereum.
In its roadmap for the first quarter of 2024, Subsquid emphasized the significant milestone of expanding to the Solana network. Despite achieving the goal of Solana expansion for 2024, Subsquid intends to introduce further enhancements this year, including the mainnet launch, Cosmos integration, and permissionless dataset submission.
