The future of the TON cryptocurrency was discussed by Pavel Durov, the creator of the Telegram messenger, during the Token2049 conference in Dubai. Durov elaborated on how regular Telegram users can engage with Toncoin (TON). Commencing on April 19, the initial payments in TON for advertising to administrators of Telegram channels will commence. Furthermore, from the following week onwards, users will have the ability to tip administrators in TON, with content creators receiving a share of the earnings.

Users will also have the option to buy and sell stickers in TON as NFTs, with sticker artists receiving 95% of the profits. Telegram will introduce mini-applications where users can purchase content using cryptocurrency. Additionally, Telegram users can transfer TON to other contacts within their conversations.

Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, envisioned the potential value of owning stickers as NFTs, emphasizing the increasing value over time. He highlighted the immense popularity of stickers and their potential as valuable assets.

Durov also mentioned that messenger users will soon be able to access their accounts using cryptocurrency wallets. Furthermore, users will soon have the ability to claim ownership of their account names, enabling them to sell them if desired.

According to Durov, all these new features will be accessible to all users without the need for any programming expertise. This marks a significant milestone in social media history, allowing users to directly own their usernames, trade them, auction them, acquire multiple usernames, and link them to their accounts.

Speculation about the introduction of USDT on TON emerged in early April following the announcement of a joint presentation by Pavel Durov and Paolo Ardoino, the head of Tether, at a cryptocurrency conference in Dubai.
