Tom Holland, renowned for his depiction of the most recent Spider-Man, recently fell victim to a cyber attack. Fans of Holland noticed unusual activity on his X account when the actor posted a mysterious message hinting at a potential collaboration with the cryptocurrency platform Binance. The post urged followers to sign up for early access to a new digital currency called the Spider Coin, supposedly linked to the Spiderverse. Given Holland’s association with the Spider-Man universe, many initially believed he was endorsing the Spider Coin; however, it was later revealed that his account had been compromised.

Tom Holland’s X account breach

On Tuesday, April 16 (US time), the beloved British actor shared a cryptic tweet suggesting a “partnership with @Binance in the launch of Spiderverse.” The tweet included a link themed around Spider-Verse, ‘spider verse’. app,’ where Holland purportedly encouraged his fans to “register for early access to $SPIDER coin and Spiderverse NFTs.” Modifications were made to Holland’s account bio to feature a link related to the alleged collaboration. The post has since been removed.

Known for his reserved nature, the Marvel star’s post caused a stir online. Despite initial doubts, users doubted Holland’s endorsement of cryptocurrency, fueling suspicions of a hack. Nevertheless, the actor has not yet addressed the incident.

Tom Holland’s upcoming projects

In the realm of cinema, Tom Holland is set to make his stage debut in Romeo and Juliet. Portraying the character of Romeo, the production is scheduled to run from May to August 2024 in London. Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, known for ‘Bad Education,’ will star as Juliet in the play. Additionally, Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker in ‘Spider-Man 4’.
