The Rebuilding Korea Party, under the leadership of former Justice Minister Cho Kuk, made the decision on Tuesday to impose restrictions on its lawmakers during parliamentary sessions. These restrictions include refraining from playing golf, flying business class, owning cryptocurrency, using VIP airport lounges, making new stock investments, and purchasing real estate without prior consultation with the party.

The party, which gained 12 proportional seats to rank as the third-largest party in the upcoming National Assembly, finalized this resolution during a workshop attended by the newly elected lawmakers in Gimhae, a city in the southeast.

Cho, a former distinguished law professor at Seoul National University, previously held the position of senior presidential secretary for civil affairs from 2017 to 2019 in the previous administration of Moon Jae-in. Despite being a close confidant of Moon, Cho’s tenure as justice minister in September 2019 was short-lived, as he resigned approximately a month later amidst investigations into an academic misconduct case involving his children during the tenure of Prosecutor General Yoon Suk Yeol.

During the campaign, the party advocated for the premature conclusion of the Yoon administration. (Yonhap)
