In a pioneering move, two government officials are preparing to introduce a new legislation that will subject the data center sector to regulatory supervision for the first time in the country.

As reported by the media source VG, Norway’s Ministers of Digitalization, Karianne Tung, and Energy, Terje Aasland, highlighted that this action stems from the government’s aim to manage and restrict activities considered unfavorable, particularly cryptocurrency mining, which is linked to substantial greenhouse gas emissions.
