Tesla’s Elon Musk has once more committed to consuming a McDonald’s Happy Meal on a live broadcast, given that the world-renowned fast-food chain accepts Dogecoin as a payment method.
This commitment springs from a recent Twitter conversation Musk engaged in with DogeDesigner. The designer suggested on Sunday that Musk partake in a Happy Meal on camera if McDonald’s decides to integrate the widely-known cryptocurrency.
The Happy Meal, a staple of McDonald’s menu targeted towards children, traditionally comes with a main entrée like a hamburger or chicken nuggets, accompanied by a side, a drink, and a small toy or promotional item.
Reacting to DogeDesigner’s proposal, Musk simply responded with a “Yes”. This online interaction reignited a discussion that took root in January 2022 when Musk first proposed the idea.
Significance of the Event: Dogecoin gained significant traction and attention in 2021, backed by endorsements from prominent personalities such as Mark Cuban and Musk himself. However, comprehensive acceptance by the majority of retailers still remains to be seen.
While enterprises like Tesla have adopted Dogecoin as a form of payment, McDonald’s is yet to join this crypto movement.
On the other hand, rivals such as Burger King and Mr. Beast Burger have employed Dogecoin acceptance as part of their promotional efforts.
Market Updates: As of this report, DOGE is valued at $0.068, indicating a 1.75% uptick in the past 24 hours, as per data from Benzinga Pro.
